INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY” TEFFFE SCOTLAND CULTURAL DISPLAY

The Economic Forum For Family Empowerment Scotland did joined millions of people around the globe to commemorate “INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY” yesterday 3rd, March 2024 with the Theme, “Count Her In; Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress”as well as their BAME Drumming Cultural display. The Event which was held at Jim Foley Community Centre was extremely marvelous and the ambient of the centre was perfect and the Guests looked elegant that they felt pleasant.

The International Women’s Day which is a date set outside to honour the movement for women’s rights and to build support for achieving universal suffrage for women. The event which is an inclusive one had our kids (Rising Stars) choreographing and gracefully showcased their different cultural attires and costumes as they did welcomed the Guests in their various dialects (Mothers tongue).

The Lead Facilitator of the Organization, Mrs Angela Ejiro Nduka had the opportunity of educating the participants on why and how the vision of the organisation was birthed. The event had numerous Guests present and our various keynotes speakers from Clare Adamson MSP, ( Member of Scottish Parliament) Motherwell and Wishaw, to Kayleigh Parker, Investment Manager, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Scotland had their turns speaking on the Theme, “Count Her In; Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress” and various other topics.

The colorful event, had TEFFFES Mothers and Kids engaged in various traditional dance, attires, singing, drumming skills and music displays. These displays were a true reflection of the value of culture and heritage, as attires and costumes of the Great Bini Kingdom, Niger-Delta, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Asian, Ghanaian were on display. The Event also had a talk on drums and exhibition of our various drumming sets.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our various Keynote Speakers: Clare Adamson MSP, ( Member of Scottish Parliament) Motherwell and Wishaw ; Kayleigh Parker, Investment Manager, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Scotland Office and every other of our Guests too numerous to mention for taking out time off their busy schedules to be part of this event as well as educating us. We truly love and appreciate you all.
